Budrys spoke by phone with his Bahraini counterpart
On 3 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Kęstutis Budrys spoke by telephone on Tuesday with Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani. The ministers of Lithuania and Bahrain discussed the security situation in the Middle East and the situation of Lithuanian citizens currently in Bahrain.
During the conversation, the Minister voiced Lithuania's solidarity with Bahrain and his sincere condolences over the reports of the casualties following the recent, unjustified Iranian attacks.
"Iran's actions pose a threat not only to the Middle East region, but also to broader international stability. Iran's attacks on neighbouring states are completely unjustifiable," the Minister said.
Budrys stressed that Iran had repeatedly demonstrated a refutable approach to the international community's efforts to resolve key issues through dialogue.
Lithuania urged all sides to refrain from further escalation and resume diplomatic efforts to prevent a larger-scale regional conflict.
"Stability in the Middle East is important for the security of the whole world," said the Minister.
The Minister and his Bahraini counterpart also discussed the situation of Lithuanian citizens in Bahrain.
