Budrys to attend the EU’s Foreign Affairs Council
On 24 February in Brussels, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys, will attend the Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union. During the Council meeting on the third year mark of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, EU Foreign Affairs Ministers will discuss the Russian aggression against Ukraine, the provision of emergency military support and security guarantees to Ukraine. The Council will approve the 16th package of sanctions against Russia and discuss further sanctions restrictive measures.
The Council will exchange views on the situation in the Middle East and Georgia. EU Foreign Affairs Ministers will discuss the EU’s response to Georgia’s intensifying democratic backsliding and the ongoing repression of the political opposition and civil society.
