Foreign Minister on visit to the US
On a working visit to the United States, on March 7-9, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius will meet with the US Secretary of State John Kerry in Washington D.C. Their meeting agenda includes such topics as implementation of the decisions of the NATO summit in Wales on collective defense, the situation in Ukraine, Lithuanian-US bilateral economic cooperation, energy and information security as well as prospects of the Lithuanian membership in the Economic Cooperation and Development.
During the visit, the Minister will also meet Mr. Michael Carpenter, special advisor for Europe and Eurasia, to the US Vice President, Ms. Karen Donfried, President of the US German Marshall Fund (GMF) and will attend a round table discussion on security, organized by the Fund.
Mr. Linkevičius will visit the local Lithuanian Community and take part in the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Restoration of Independence in the Baltimore Lithuanian Hall.
