Foreign Ministry’s statement on ceasefire violations along Nagorno-Karabakh line of contact

Lithuania expresses its deep concerns about the reported large-scale ceasefire violations along the line of contact in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, strongly condemns the use of force and extends condolences to all the victims’ families.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius urges the sides to the conflict to immediately stop the use of military force and to pursue their commitment to seek a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Lithuania supports the negotiations aimed at peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and mediation efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to push for a peaceful resolution of the conflict on the basis of the fundamental principles of non-use of force, self-determination of peoples and territorial integrity enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations and the Helsinki Final Act.
