L.Linkevičius bids farewell to outgoing Czech and Spanish Ambassadors to Lithuania

On 10 July, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius received the outgoing Czech and Spanish Ambassadors to Lithuania - Radek Pech and Miguel Arias Estévez - to discuss close bilateral relations and to bid farewell to them.

The Lithuanian Foreign Minister thanked the Czech and Spanish diplomatic representatives for their active efforts to promote a versatile relationship with Lithuania.

L.Linkevičius thanked R.Pech for his efforts to promote the Lithuania-Czech political, economic and cultural ties as well as for the Czech support of Lithuania’s membership of the UN Security Council. The Lithuanian Foreign Minister discussed plans to hold a meeting with the Czech Foreign Minister in Prague in November.

L.Linkevičius thanked the Spanish representative for his country’s support during Lithuania’s Presidency of the EU Council and for our country’s goal of joining the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

The officials drew attention to the excellent bilateral and multilateral cooperation. According to the head of the Lithuanian diplomacy, it is quite meaningful to intensify the economic partnership by attracting more investment to Lithuania.

The Czech Ambassador in Vilnius will be succeeded by Bohumil Mazanek and the Spanish Ambassador by Emilio Fernández-Castaño y Díaz-Caneja.
