L.Linkevičius meets with Israeli business delegation
During the meeting with representatives of the Israeli business delegation on 30 June in Vilnius, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius emphasized the dynamic development of bilateral relationship and called to seize opportunities for economic cooperation.
“The relationship between Lithuania and Israel is currently very dynamic and positive, but we would also appreciate larger economic cooperation shifts,” L.Linkevičius said during the meeting with the Israeli business delegation led by the President of the Manufacturers Association of Israel Zvi Oren.
The Lithuanian Foreign Minister also positively appreciated investment by Israeli companies in the high-tech sector in Lithuania and assured that it would have been extremely useful for Lithuania to make use of the rich experience of this Middle Eastern country of startup business development. Israel is a world leader according to the number of startup companies.
More than 100 students from Israel are currently studying at higher education institutions in Lithuania - this is the largest number of foreign students in the country.
The three-day visit of Israeli businessmen to Lithuania includes meetings with heads of state, major business organizations, potential partners.
