Landsbergis awards Yale University Professor Timothy Snyder: "Your works remind us why we must not forget history"
On March 21, during his visit to the U.S.A., the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis, awarded Professor of History at Yale University Timothy Snyder.
"Your works remind us why history must not be forgotten. I thank you that with words and books you not only remind the world of the history of our region but also defend Ukraine", said Landsbergis while awarding Snyder with the Commander's Cross of the Order for Merits to Lithuania".
The Foreign Minister and Snyder discussed regional security issues and the need to continue and increase support for Ukraine.
"History tends to repeat itself, as well as humanity's greatest mistakes. The lack of geopolitical foresight in recent times led to the fact that more than one nation lost its freedom and was condemned to long decades of occupation", noted Landsbergis during the conversation with the Yale University Professor.
