Lithuania closes down its Honorary Consulate in Sri Lanka
Lithuania closes down its Honorary Consulate in Sri Lanka after the passing away of Lithuania’s long-time Honorary Consul in Sri Lanka Mohamed Ansar Jabir.
The Republic of Lithuania and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka established diplomatic relations in 1996. After just a couple of months following the establishment of the diplomatic relations, M.A.Jabir was appointed as Lithuania’s first and so far the only Honorary Consul in Sri Lanka. The 69-year old Honorary Consul M.A. Jabir passed away at the end of 2014.
