Lithuania once again protests to Belarus over hybrid attacks

On 11 November, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania summoned a representative of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Lithuania and once again expressed strong protest over repeated violations of Lithuania's airspace by Belarus, which are to be considered hybrid attacks.

The representative of the Embassy of Belarus was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding violations of the airspace on 8 and 10 November, when illegal air balloons from Belarus again posed a threat to civil aviation and public safety.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminded the the Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of Belarus that, in the event of repeated violations of the Lithuanian state border from the territory of Belarus, Lithuania reserves the right to extend the restrictions imposed by the Government Resolution No 733 of 29 October 2025, closing the Lithuanian-Belarusian border for a longer period or taking additional measures.  The Ministry also firmly demanded that Belarus immediately take measures to prevent such hybrid attacks from its territory.
