LITHUANIAN AMBASSADOR PRESENTED CREDENTIALS TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

On 27 February Lithuanian Ambassador to the USA Audrius  Brūzga presented credentials to the President of the United States of America George W.Bush. During the conversation with the President of the United States, Lithuanian Ambassador A.Brūzga remarked that  present diplomatic relations of Lithuania and the USA had been the best and warmest since their establishment 85 years ago.

“With the USA we advocate the protection of freedom, human rights and dignity, strengthening peace and developing welfare in the whole world. Our soldiers stand together on the front line fighting against terrorism and defending freedom of choice in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Our politicians and diplomats jointly seek solutions for the global tensions, lack of security and tolerance,” said Ambassador A.Brūzga. 

The President of the USA G.W.Bush welcomed the ambitions of incumbent Lithuanian Ambassador and among them the goal to guarantee Lithuanian citizens’ free travel to the USA.

Ambassador A.Brūzga noted that together with the US administration and legislators he would seek the abolishment of the hurdles impeding our people’s travel and communication as soon as possible.

On 26 February Ambassador Α.Brūzga was received by the Deputy Secretary of State John D.Negroponte. Lithuanian Ambassador assured the US diplomat that Lithuania honoured its commitments in Iraq. However, Lithuania will pay more attention and allocate more resources for the successful implementation of the mission in Afghanistan.
