Lithuanian Ambassador presents her letters of credence to the King of Thailand
On 10 April in Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand, the Ambassador of Lithuania to China Ina Marčiulionytė presented her letters of credence to the King of Thailand Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun.
After the official ceremony, the conversation with the King focused on the possibility of promoting relations between Lithuania and Thailand.
“We will strive to actively develop our mutually beneficial bilateral relationship with Thailand in the fields of economy, science, student exchanges, culture and other spheres,” said the Ambassador of Lithuania. The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand Don Pramudwinai.
The Ambassador Marčiulionytė discussed the development of bilateral economic relations, the possibility of cooperation in the spheres of high-tech and life sciences in the meetings with the Vice-Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce Pairush Barapachaisri. Thailand’s businessmen were invited to come to Lithuania, to make use of the services of the Port of Klaipėda and to participate in the international forum ‘Life Sciences Baltics 2018’ in Vilnius.
Lithuania and Thailand established their diplomatic relations on 9 April 1993. Marčiulionytė, who resides in Beijing, is the third Lithuanian Ambassador accredited to Thailand. Former Lithuanian Ambassadors to Thailand resided in Vilnius. The Thai Ambassador accredited to Lithuania resides in Copenhagen.
