Lithuanian diplomat to watch verdict announcement in Savchenko trial
A representative of the Embassy of Lithuania in Russia plans to watch the verdict announcement in the trial of the Ukrainian fighter pilot Nadiya Savchenko. The Lithuanian diplomat is travelling to the Rostov region’s city of Donetsk, where the representative of the Embassy together with representatives of other countries will watch the announcement of the verdict in the Savchenko trial on 21 and 22 March.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania has more than once strictly condemned Savchenko’s illegal detention and imprisonment in the Russian Federation and called on the Russian Government and law enforcement authorities to respect human rights, to immediately and unconditionally release Savchenko and other Ukrainian citizens, who were being unlawfully held in the territory of Russia as well as to ensure their return to their homeland.
