Lithuanian Foreign Minister attends GLOBSEC 2014 Bratislava Global Security Forum

On 14-15 May, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius is attending the GLOBSEC 2014 Global Security Forum in Bratislava, the capital city of Slovakia. The visit also includes a bilateral meeting of heads of diplomacy of Lithuania and Slovakia.

The forum has brought together several dozen high-ranking officials and analysts from EU Member States, institutions and other countries, including representatives of the United States, Ukraine, India and Israel. At the event, L.Linkevičius will review the role of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation in the context of global security.

The Minister also attends the GLOBSEC City Talks held in the side-lines of the forum. This format was established with the aim of holding discussions with a wider professional audience. This year discussions on the crisis in Ukraine and security issues are held with members of the media and academic community.

The bilateral meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia Miroslav Lajcák will discuss Eastern Partnership issues and the situation in Ukraine, bilateral and regional cooperation, as well as important EU and international policy issues.
