Lithuania’s Ambassador presents his letters of credence to Estonian President
On 5 September, the Ambassador of Lithuania to Estonia Giedrius Apuokas presented his letters of credence to the President of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid.
Following the ceremony, the President and the Ambassador discussed the most important issues of bilateral and regional cooperation, such as the regional gas market, the synchronization of electricity networks, and the construction of the Rail Baltica railway. The Ambassador congratulated Estonia on successfully taking the helm of the Council of the European Union.
The meeting also discussed preparations for the celebration of the centenary of the restoration of the statehood or independence of the Baltic states in 2018.
Ambassador Apuokas conveyed the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė’s invitation for the President Kaljulaid to visit Lithuania on 16 February 2018.
