Lithuania’s Foreign Vice-Minister stresses the need to strengthen the EU’s external border security
On 10 February, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Rolandas Kriščiūnas participated in the meeting of the General Affairs Council in Brussels. At the meeting the Latvian Work Programme of the EU Council Presidency was presented and preparation for the European Council in March as well as counter-terrorism measures were discussed. According to the Vice Minister, “to effectively combat terrorism and ensure safety and security of our citizens, the EU member states must act together to strengthen and modernize the management of the EU’s external borders and fight against propaganda and information security threats in order to defend European values and prevent radicalization of the society”.
