Minister Budrys met with Mike Waltz in New York

On November 12, during his visit to the United States, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Kęstutis Budrys met in New York with Mike Waltz, the U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

During the meeting, Budrys and Waltz discussed transatlantic security issues and the security situation at NATO's eastern borders, as well as the pursuit of a just and sustainable peace in Ukraine.

"Security, strengthening defence, and enhancing economic resilience are priority areas for Lithuania. We are interested in expanding cooperation with the U.S. in these areas, both bilaterally and in multilateral formats", said the Minister.

At the meeting with the U.S. representative, Budrys emphasized the need to continue not only military and financial support for Ukraine, but also political support for the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Minister and Waltz also discussed Russian and Belarusian hybrid attacks on Europe and the need for the United Nations to have response measures against such activities.
