THE NEW CONSULATE HEADED BY THE LITHUANIAN HONORARY CONSUL OPENED IN ALMA-ATA
On 27 February a Consulate headed by the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania Audrius Jozėnas was opened in Alma-Ata. Mr Jozėnas is the first Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Honorary Consul takes office in the consular district of Alma-Ata and Alma-Ata region. During the opening ceremony of Lithuanian Consulate in Alma-Ata, Lithuanian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Romualdas Visokavičius handed a consular patent to the new Lithuanian Honorary Consul A. Jozėnas. The Ambassador expressed his belief that the new Lithuanian Consulate would contribute to enhancement of relations between Lithuania and Kazakhstan in the fields of trade, economy, culture and science, and help to safeguard the interests of Lithuanian citizens in Kazakhstan.
A.Jozėnas has lived and worked in Kazakhstan since 1995. For a long time of his stay in Kazakhstan he was engaged in pharmacy business. Mr Jozėnas contributed to the creation of Kazakhstan’s legal basis in this sphere. He also initiated and headed the Kazakhstan Association of Pharmaceutical Importers.
Currently Lithuanian Honorary Consul Jozėnas works in the sphere of advertisement. He is the president of International Advertising Association, member of Kazakhstan’s Assembly of Nations and a participant of 12th Seimas of Lithuanian World Community. Mr Jozėnas is also head of Lithuanian Community in Alma-Ata region.
