Vice-Minister Mitkus: Lithuania provides continued support for Ukraine
On 13 July in Brussels, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Sigitas Mitkus met with the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Taras Kachka. The meeting focused on the process of Ukraine's integration into the European Union and its reform progress and prospects.
The Vice-Minister Mitkus congratulated the country on the opening of the negotiating clusters and stressed the need to maintain the pace of EU accession negotiations and to ensure the swift implementation of the necessary reforms.
“Lithuania consistently supports Ukraine’s European path. Our objective is clear and it is to open all remaining negotiating clusters without delay and to maintain the momentum of the accession negotiation process for Ukraine’s EU membership by 2030. This is a strategic investment in the security and resilience of Europe as a whole", said Mitkus.
The Vice-Minister underlined that Lithuania's support for Ukraine remains comprehensive, from military support to humanitarian aid, from political diplomacy to concrete projects in Ukraine. Lithuania will continue to act as an active supporter of Ukraine's EU integration in order to keep the process of EU accession negotiations ambitious and irreversible.
